When the 9th-ranked Angelina College Lady Roadrunners raced out to a 20-4 lead in the first quarter, the only remaining question was, “Would she get it?”

“She” was Natasha Mack, and the sophomore from Lufkin entered the game needing 34 points to tie the program’s all-time career scoring record – a mark set in the 1979-1981 seasons by the legendary Lesa Jones.

On a bucket with 47 seconds remaining in the game, Mack tied the record, and her 34 points led the Lady ‘Runners to a 93-52 win at Shands Gymnasium.

Mack finished the game just shy of a triple-double, collecting 12 rebounds and blocking nine shots to go with her 34 points. Mia Williams drilled five three pointers for a 21-point game; and Mia Perkins added a double-double consisting of 14 points and 15 boards in lifting AC to a 22-3 record for the season. Britney Thompson hit four treys to finish with 2 points.

Monette Bolden led the Lady Cavaliers with 17 points; Bre Sha Richardson added 16.

Mack will have an opportunity to set the new mark when AC travels to Jacksonville College on Tuesday. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
